Detroit passes, We're not trading a younger Pius Suter for an older Tanner Pearson. that's not what rebuilding teams do.

LOL Bear is coming off a $2,000,000 per season and his QO is $2,500,000 zero chance he takes less than his qualifier.

Bear's QO is 2.25, not 2.5. It's 90% of his current salary because he makes more than 1 million

Either that or trade him for a pick, OR, lose him for nothing. Detroit is at the point where they should be looking more aggressively at getting actual results

Nobody is paying anything for his signing rights. He shouldn't have been healthy scratched in the playoffs if the Canes wanted to monetize him

His QO is $2,400,000 just looked it up, Anyways $1,000,000 for him is a joke even if he does deserve that amount.

So, trade a player at a position of need for a player not at a position of need? Detroit needs centers, not wingers. Pearson also isn't a significant upgrade over Suter either, if an upgrade at all.
This trade makes no sense to Detroit.

Pin this one when it happens. He wasn’t healthy, he said after season he had long Covid and after getting through that he had a leg injury which required surgery after the season. He was available if somebody got hurt but not near 100%.

Regardless it didn’t work out here and probably not a great path long term. Team gave him permission to talk to other teams to facilitate a trade. Very likely he gets a mid pick and even if he somehow didn’t he’s gonna get way better offers than 1m.

I don't think he will, he doesn't have a large enough sample size to give team's any reason to believe he could take on a top 4 role anytime soon if ever, and injuries/medical issues still effect an assets value

Why are the Pens trading the younger/cheaper Dman signed for 1 less year when the whole point of moving one is to open cap space to bring in a forward?

Dumoulin is coming off of a down year, may not re-sign either because the new regime has no attachment to him. Where as Rutherford does

Missing the entire point completely. Moving Dumo is to shed salary to be used elsewhere/open a spot for POJ, how does taking Myers back do any of that? If anything, we'd want a 3rd or 4th round pick for Dumo, not a 6 million dollar player with longer term. Same reason you're moving Pearson for picks.

No, not all. Trying to retool best we can for Sid's last few years. We have three 4 million a year left side Dmen with POJ ready, a serious lack of 2nd line wings and limited cap space. We move an excess Dman so we can afford to bring in a much needed winger, or at least resign Rakell. Same goes for all the Petts for a pick deals on here.

Perhaps. I think he’s shown enough in his career thus far that teams will take a flyer on a young cheap offensively skilled dman. Chances are that 3/4 rounder that it would likely cost to poach him before somebody else does isn’t going to pan out a player of his potential anyways. At the very least he can slot in third pair on probably half the teams in the league and run a PP unit. Upside to settle into a second pair is there and risk is low.

Don’t think that’s enough to acquire miller especially if vans sending him to a division rival

Can upgrade the 2022 2nd to the 2022 1st, or swap Vilardi for a better prospect
