That is one bad trade to obtain 6.25m Wheeler. No 7th Dman and what a shaky pair in net. Leafs are infinitely better to keep Kerfoot and having 2.75m in cap

Agree to disagree.

His value has dipped significantly. Doesn’t make sense to move him in my mind. He had down year which is supposedly due to injuries. I think they plan to get him healthy this off-season and then have him compete with someone for the starters job in 22/23 and hopefully have a 1a 1b situation. Following year reassess and move a goalie

The leafs have their skill players. They need some gritty role players the exact opposite of kerfoot. He isn't the only guy who should go Engvall, Kase, Mikheyev and Blackwell all shouldn't be back. These guys in the playoffs couldn't ware down a old-timer's league team.

I get that but in this scenario here it's a cheaper Kerfoot out for a more expensive Wheeler and Wheeler isn't wearing anyone down these days.
