Detroit Offseason

Description
Explanation:

Kakko and Zadina swap: I would love to see zadina under a new coach but both of these players need a change of scenery. Hopefully under Detroits management Kakko can thrive.

Oilers make cap space and get a good center for depth: I feel like this would be a great trade for both sides. Mainly for the reason that Seider will be working with Barrie to grow into a great top 5 d-man in the future. Also bring in a 1st for Detroit that could really help out. If Edmonton is bad again then it's great for us. Pius Suter and Oli Juolevi would really help out the Oilers depth and would help bring them a cup.

Hronek doesn't fit the rebuild to much: I do love Hronek but I don't really think that he just doesn't work to much with the future of this team. Getting the 16th overall pick in the draft would really help more to Detroits future rather than Hronek.

Edvinsson growth: I don't think Edvinsson is ready yo play on the top line, especially if I have Barrie helping Seider out, that's why I brought Stecher back. By putting them both on the second line I think that Stecher can help with Edvinssons growth. If they really want to they can try out Edvinsson Seider and Barrie Stecher.

Savoie and Lambert: With the 8th overall pick I do think that Savoie can drop down and I would pick him there. If not I think Nazar or Nemec would also be great for Detroit. With the 16th overall pick from Vegas I would love to get Lambert. I still think that he is one of the top players in this draft but is not able to thrive under the Pelicans management and style of play.

Detroit tries to tank: Yes I do want to see Detroit compete, but I really think we should try and tank this one last year and finish the rebuild. Getting a top pick in next year's draft would be amazing for Detroit. Especially if we are able to win a lottery pick and get Bedard or Michkov.

If Hronek doesn’t fit in your rebuild, what on earth makes u think he’d fit in ours?

We don’t need anymore offensive defensemen anyways….
Dahlin & Power will more than take care of that for us

Just not a guy i can see the Sabres interested in

I don't think any of those teams are interested in those deals.

The Oilers dont need centre depth. McDavid, Drai, Nuge, Mcleod, Ryan. Easy pass on Suter. The oilers need bottom 6 wingers(mainly right shot), a big mean RH shutdown dman, and of course a goalie.
Also, good luck playing Barrie first pair minutes and on his off side.

Suter also plays wing.

I don't like any of this from Detroit's perspective. Stetcher, who hardly saw the ice last year, back and on the second pairing? Greiss back on a two-year contract? Taking on Barrie as a first pairing left (for some reason) defenseman and having to give up Suter and all we get back is moving up 11 spots into the late first round? Far enough short of the cap floor to sign Forsberg and still be a little short?

The only part I like is Kakko for Zadina, but that's never happening.
