Description
got this idea from a different ACGM that was JVR and 5th overall to the Sens for 7th overall, but Ottawa would definitely need to add for that to be worth it for Philly

Additional Details:
The concept here is that Philly sheds a really heavy contract and opens up a lot of cap space in this "swinging for the fences" year, while also upgrading the actual player from JVR to Brown. Sens have the cap space to make this work through shedding other contracts (ie Murray/Zaitsev/White) and still have space to be able to afford upgrades. Sens move up in the draft and still get a guy with a bit of production left in him to play in the middle 6. Could be a net-front guy for Stutzle, or a guy with a bit of scoring experience for Pinto.
PHI
  1. Brown, Connor
  2. 2022 1st round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
Retain 50% salary if necessary, I couldn't care less. Sens may still need to add a bit of value, like Tampa's 2nd round pick or something like that. This is just to show the general template.

I like this for both teams. Torts will love Connor Brown and Ottawa gets Jiricek or Nemec

I think Brown is probably worth a late 1st at this point by himself and he’s also a Torts type player. Another Atkinson

I was going to say something like this

If Ottawa's guy is either Jiricek or Nemec, then you do this.

Hope that JVR has a decent season, trade him for a pick at the deadline as it gave time for one of Greig/Lodin/etc to be more NHL ready

They better not do it for a guy that nobody had in their top-10 Very Angry tears of joy

yeah lmao the premise is definitely that Ottawa is picking Jiricek or Nemec (ideally Jiricek), I wouldn't do this if anybody else was their guy, except for MAYBE Cutter Gauthier but that's still a hard maybe

Of course we don't know how it'll play out but isn't Cutter Gauthier predicted to go around where the Sens draft?

Ok I found what I was looking for! It's a consolidated list of 2022 NHL pre-Draft rankings. It includes those from Dobber, Smaht Scouting, Sam Cosentino, Future Considerations, Yahoo, THW’s Peter Baracchini, THW’s Ryan Kennedy, Montreal Hockey Now’s Marco D’Amico , Last Word On Sports, The Athletic’s Scott Wheeler, The Athletic’s Corey Pronman, Craig Button, EliteProspects, Recruit Scouting, and Draft Pro.

Cutter Gauthier is 11th. We shouldn't need to move up to get him, but yeah we never know, it depends how it plays out. But seriously, the Top-5 seems clear (Shane Wright, Logan Cooley, Juraj Slafkovský, Simon Nemec, David Jiricek). After that :

    6- Matthew Savoie
    7- Joakim Kemell
    8- Jonathan Lekkerimäki
    9- Frank Nazar
    10- Danila Yurov
    11- Cutter Gauthier
    12- Brad Lambert

The thing is there would be several questions :

    - which teams are open to trade their pick and move down?
    - Who are our top-2 guys in the list above?
    - How much higher are we on Nemec/Jiricek for example, if we were able to trade with the Flyers

    Etc

Cutter Gauthier seems to be moving into the 6th spot for a lot of people right now, there's a really solid chance that he's not there for the Sens at 7. But to answer your question, for the Sens, of those 6-12 you listed, my order would be Gauthier, Nazar, Kemell, Savoie, Lekkerimaki, Lambert, Yurov. Also I'm WAY higher on the defenceman, especially Jiricek, than anybody who might be available at 7 other than Gauthier, but I still think he'll be gone by then. Jiricek just fits the Sens' needs so well, and would be anything but a reach in the top 5. big guy who can defend well and still keep up with his skating and move pucks sounds like the absolute perfect fit next to one of Chabot or Sanderson, and he'll probably be playing NHL games by 2023
