It’s definitely better than most and that’s not meant to be snarky. Be prepared for people to tell you Holl won’t even get you a 5th in a league where Josh Brown did.

I think it's close enough, but I personally don't like it.

Seems like you will not get Campbell at that amount, but that's the max amount I would be winning to pay. Personally I think the cost for DeSmith is too much if that's the number, so I would go somewhere else. I think you get way more for Kerfoot, and I think you will be extremely disappointed giving Max Domi that much.

Feel like a Mrazek buyout is the better way to go than giving up a first, even with the thirds coming back

Shouldnt take more than a second worst case to move him

Trading Kerfoot for nothing, to give the money to Domi seems backwards to me. Perhaps Domi could be a better fit on the 2nd line- but I don't think he brings more value.
If they're going to have an average middle 6 LW for 3.5million, it's going to be Kerfoot, IMO.

Dats the one right there. The whole "Jettison Kerfoot!" effort on here is weird to me. IMO, the value of keeping him for next season on a potential playoff run, and then having his contract expire at the same time as essentially every depth player on the team will be good for the short and long term build on this team.

Agreed.
IF Kerfoot is moving out- it's to shed salary to spend on a G, or to split money between 2 roster spots. Not re-spend on 1 player of equal or lesser value.

i would love to move him for value, he had a career high i just didnt want to listen to everyone telling me it will take picks to dump him lol. i would be just as happy to keep kerfoot too i just think the leafs could re-coop some assets for him.

MN declines. We cant take on salary.

For only a 5th though, maybe they find a way to move money out to take him.

Who would you grab instead of Domi, i was thinking a guy similar to bunting, someone that can retrieve pucks and dosen't mind going into the corners.

Right now we’ve got Hartman, Rossi, Ek, and Jost as our C’s.

But it's an unworkable 21 man roster, and with just six NHL Dmen in the entire system.

Hahaha, no, that's not what I'm saying at all...Kerfoot is probably worth a 2nd. The problem is, and it's why so many Kerfoot trades get laughed at/turned down, is that a)Why would you trade away a player for picks when you're a contending team? Cap room? But you're replacing that cap space with a player for an equal cap hit? Wouldn't the team trading for him just do that instead?, B)Why would a non-contending team give up a pick for him, and C)Why would you move Kerfoot to a contending team for a pick when it effectively makes that team better, and your team worse?

"Re couping assets" isn't something that contending teams do. Picks and prospects are for peasants and rebuilding teams. The Leafs are neither of those things.

I would not give Domi more than $1mill. He would definitely help that line by giving them someone better on the rush and good playmaking, but I think his weaknesses are too much. Lol I would love to see the guys that think Nylander is awful defensively and very inconsistent watch 5 games straight of Max Domi. Again if it's only $1mil I take the chance, knowing that I would play him on the 4th line a ton, and move him up to Nylander and JT at times (or maybe play him with one of Nylander or JT as a separate line), or even with Matthews.

Personally I think the Leafs need a responsible C and need to move JT to the wing. Watching him this year most of his issues seem to be his skating (always has been) and moving up and down the ice. There have been a ton of times when Nylander is F1 in the dzone. He's still killer down low in the ozone, and actually looked nice against TB when he was able to create rush plays (plays that usually came when he was up at his own blueline like a winger would be). If I could move Muzzin for a decent return and create space, I would go for a Gourde or Backlund type (if Flames are changing direction).

If not that then I would consider swapping Marner and Nylander first. And then I would go for better rush players that are solid defensively. The two guys I wanted the Leafs to get at TDL were Lehkonen and Paul. Lol don't see that happening (maybe Paul takes $3.5 hometown)? So other than that you see what the prices are for a Marchment (probably too high), Copp (also too high and I don't think he wants to come back to Canada), or trade for someone like Iafallo (doubt he's available), or Bertuzzi (don't know the cost), Crouse (I think they want to lock him up), etc. I really don't know how/if it works out, but I do think they need to improve that 2nd line LW spot. Maybe you wait for TDL and pay a high cost for whoever becomes available, maybe even a rental. Someone like Connor Brown.
