Description
Friedman said last night that Dubois wants to go to UFA in 2024, so he's likely getting traded...

Not sure on value, this is just to open up a conversation on what a trade between Winnipeg and Colorado could look like. Girard, Newhook, AND a 1st seems steep but I'm not sure Avs have other pieces to entice Winnipeg.

I don’t think jets even consider trading PLD in their division. But I like the package, I’m just not sure where newhook will end up as a player.

Jets had a terrible season last year with a lot of issues with the team. I’m putting money on the fact Dubois is trying to force the team to change before he makes any type of commitment by threatning by leaving in UFA

That seems like pretty fair value. I feel like it really depends on whether WPG thinks it can retool or just goes full rebuild. If its the first, this is a really good package but if they just want futures another team can probably come up with something better

Lehoten had a great run as a Av, but is he really a 4 m player? For about 7.75m you can sign Kadri as a UFA, keep your young assets, and if you need cap trade Girard for futures. I kinda think it's kinda crazy to give up so much for a second line centre who is going to demand UFA money.

Okay value, but there is no need for the Jets to add Barron and Winnipeg has no need for Girard or Kubel.

I was kind of thinking that may be a possibility as well. He's using what leverage he has to possibly push for changes and a coach he wants to see. It would be nice if that's the case.

You very well might be right, and obviously management would have a better read as to if this is a contract/roster leverage play. But if his agent and him are being cagy, why would you trust this guy after the whole thing in Columbus?

the question you have to ask at that point is will dubois want to test free agency even if he gets traded, he might have a set destination in mind too.

Zero chance of Pierre-Luc Dubois being trade within the division, And that doesn't get him anyways.
