If Price really is done and Keith is willing to waive to Montreal I'm making this deal in a heartbeat.

Pretty risky 2nd pair defense with Broberg/Bouchard. That would be the weak spot here. Moving Barrie seems like one of the few cap moves Edmonton can make, in addition to Kassian; Seattle is a very good landing spot it just seems that has higher asset value than just a "dump" move but I could be wrong.

Curious what you had planned on Puljujarvi as that is a big cap debate for Edmonton. I didn't see a trade of his rights on your squad?

Do you feel that Lankinen is worth that much more than Stuart Skinner as the backup? Since he is no longer waiver exempt this seems a trivial move.

That looks much better and more competitive.

Seattle should take that deal in a heartbeat so that is not a "homer" trade by any means. Possibly even get more out of them.

The only fly in the entire ointment is getting Duncan Keith to waive and go further away from his son.

Different question: Do you see Cooper Marody as a 4th line impact player or is he someone who can challenge for a 3rd line scoring/PP2 spot?

But why? Habs receive nothing but contracts in this deal. If Price is done, then send him on LTIR. His contract is like 80% insured and its not like Molson is poor. Thats like 6m in cap wed have to eat, that costs a 1st rounder

Did you not see the Weber trade from last week? This is the same thing. Clearly the Habs don’t want to be in LTIR.

They didn’t want Weber’s contract because his isn’t insured. They’d have to pay the full amount.

He’s owed a grand total of $6 mil over the last four years of this contract.
