I wonder really if non centers like FF and Jonny G are being discussed by Brian and the org to bring in. If not, I think they should go for players like Mikeyhev and Marchmont forward types to at least strengthen the top 9 but I would love if they added a premier top 6 forward again seeing as Ovi and Oshie are older and we can't count on any prospects to be this productive.

Love the FF signing but don't sign Kadri. We don't need him if we have FF. McMichael is 2C ready, especially if he has FF and Mantha on his wings.

Yea I assume they would prefer a center, but FF and Gaudreau are two guys that really don't come up in FA very often so I really hope they take a run at them. Definitely agree that top 6 forward in general is the biggest priority. As of right now they have Ovi, Kuzy, and Mantha plus Oshie and McMichael who can play up but really should be on the third line. Wilson won't be out the entire year, but that still leaves at least one slot to be filled and hopefully two

Vanecek is only 3 years older than Skinner, so there is some long-term potential there. I guess the question is whether he is the guy who can carry a team to the promised land over the next 2-3 seasons. I'm not sure of that.

I also dont want Kadri but we do need a top 6 center and a top 6 winger. McMike isnt ready for 2C. He should be at 3C between oshie and sheary

No he's 2C ready. His underlying numbers as a center were the strongest on the team. With help of Forsberh and Mantha, he'll be fine.

I like Mcmike and think he will be a good top 6 center but I dont think you should confidently say hes ready to be 2C using analytics with such a small sample size. I would prefer to have him at 3C next season but would not be surprised to see them move him to 2C.

Then maybe find a 1 year bridge for a center like Malkin so McM can jump up next season. Really don't want to sign a guy like Kadri to a terrible deal he'll never live up to.

Guy like Copp could make a ton of sense. Can play 2C or wing on top 9 as needed.

That's a good point. Very versatile. Could play that 2C then move to wing when McM moves up. Giroux as well but doubt he'd want to come to the Caps.

Miller could also be a fit. 2C now then resign and he can be on the wing when McMike is ready

I'm not against Miller, I jsut don't want to spend the price that's being asked for him. It's way too high. It's a price for a 99 point center but he will never hit that total again. He'll be a consisten 70 point center which is fine but I'm not paying a 99 point price, and some team will.
