Everything falling apart

Created by: Howie
Team: 2022-23 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 24, 2022
Published: Jun. 24, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Here's a detailed list off all the **** that's has happened for the jets recently

Scheifele being a locker room pest and not knowing where his future lies

Wheeler no 3 on dailyfaceoff trade Bait list and has little value despite being a near ppg player

Trotz not coaching the jets while focusing on family

Dubois wanting to be a 2024 free agent and not caring about letting the world know skewing his value

With these pieces Hellebuyck may see the the same why as the team not in full contend mode and want a move

A coach that will be a recycled coach will little to no change besides new schemes ands structure without any accolades like trotz

Lack of right shot players on the team and everyone in their right mind on capfriendly seeing our situation and try to make low ball offers that fit no positional need now or in the future

I'm sad

They can't afford to do that, as they didn't sell out once last season. Even the 50% attendance limit game wasn't sold out.

What choice do they have? They don’t have the components currently to win.

I feel like a child of divorced parents and my dad told me he was coming over after months of not seeing him. Then after getting my hopes up and excited they cancel at the last minute and im left devastated. That's how i feel about this situation with Barry. Good for him, but damn this one stings.

If they nuke it now, they will be in the wilderness for 5+ years. If they trade 80, 55, 37 this long before the team control expires, then expect trade requests from 27, 81 as well. Good luck selling any tickets.

If you move helle, Connor, Ehlers and Morrisey as well you’re gonna get a good return for them. If you did a clean house tomorrow the rebuild wouldn’t be terrible and people would probably want to see this young team compete

You won't see a sellout for years and will be a have-not team financially. I don't see anyone present that plan with revenue projections to Chipman.

Isn’t the point of Armchair GM to propose trades that only make sense for 1 team and then have fans of the other team **** all over said trade proposals?

Get with the program man

What would you rather watch? This current roster player next season and losing or a bunch of young prospects and rookies traded for through a rebuild and play on the team next season? Kyle Connor could fetch a guy like Alexander holtz, Ehlers would probably get more young rookies (Shane Pinto from Ottawa) get to see Perfetti, Lucius, Samberg, Heinola, Berdin all play. I’d rather do a clean start and get a bunch of solid prospects in return and watch those guys next season. I wouldn’t even care if they lost a lot of games I’d just prefer to watch the young guys play

Maybe even get Bedard? I'd be fine either way just don't want to be in no man's land again like either trade everyone not named perfetti conner ehlers Morrissey and Samberg and start a new core over again

If they blow it up this offseason the team will have a reputation as quitters, as there is still one year before any move would need to be made. Remember Bettman said that this team needs to sell out every game to make it work. They fell short by 1000-1500 a game last season and under this plan I could see that ballooning to 3000-4000 empty seats. I can't see Alice from Accounting or Sebastian from sales make that business case. Kevin from Hockey Ops will do his boss' bidding.

No fan has hope this core and they basically have 1 more year to make work before all the players leave in FA

I think TNSE will use this one year and then in the 2023 offseason move things around once those notable players have one year left. To quit a full year before you have to would be a painful financial hit that would be felt for years.

Technically Dubois saying he plans on going UFA in two years doesn't really change his value in a trade. Any good GM would ask what his plans were before trading for him and you would have to think that Dubois and his agent wouldn't lie. So Dubois' value would be what it is now in a deal anyways.

Unless you believe he would lie to his potential employer.

The Dubois news is way worse than the Trotz news.

I don't really care about Trotz coaching the Jets, he wasn't turning this sinking ship around, they're just not built to play his brand of hockey.

Many fans were hopeful that Trotz would come coach the Jets and no doubt they're disappointed with the news and so is TNSE as hiring Trotz alone would've been a huge offseason win for them to an increasingly apathetic fanbase.

Chipman and Chevy have no one to blame but themselves for this raging garbage fire roaring around them, doubling down on a toxic leader and his enabling coach for sooooo long has led to much of the mess they find themselves in.
