Description

Fiala trade: a top prospect, a promising center prospect (on a team that needs center help on the roster and in the cupboards), and a winger with 1st round pedigree

Vegas trade: with the Snith deal, they need cheap roster players, and don’t have enough for a full roster as it is. They’re paying the price for cap hell

Zacha doesn’t need to be the return for SJ, but figured an NHLer was preferred

Tatar is being traded. It doesn’t need to be to LA and the return doesn’t need to be a 2nd Rounder

I think the BG would take this deal it gets us through the buyout years with ELC's. I am not sure how other NJD fans are going to react though...

Sharks aren’t trading Reimer for an at best 3rd liner who is rumored to not being qualified.

Fair enough. Last year's draft was so much of a crap shoot that I don't put a hole lot of stock in the draft positions. I think it'll be a draft that will get a ton of re-drafts made for it because quality guys will end up coming from all over the place.

I agree NJD shouldn't trade Holtz for Fiala, but it wouldn't completely shock me if it did happen.

Yeah, Mukhamadullin was also a bit of a reach in 2020 when he went #20 despite a lot of lists having him as a 2nd/3rd rounder. But Fitz has been very persistent with getting him over to NA and playing, so he definitely sees something in him.

At least Mercer at #18 is looking fantastic.

Why would the knights give up two players that are both better than all three pieces they are getting back? The devils are trading two fourth liners and a third pairing dman

I don’t like Zacha. He had one good year that was entirely just shooting %. His WAR Is -0.17 meaning he’s a more negative impact than positive on the ice.

Would I take a shot at him for free? Yeah sure he’s still young and clearly has skill. But I won’t give up any value for him

Well they currently can’t ice a full roster without being over the cap, and not many teams will be willing and able to take cap space to get them out of their current situation. Maybe they can have a 3rd too, but I say take advantage of them needing to make a trade, and take Patches for pennies
