Pretty sure Oilers decline this trade even with the 2nd added.

That trade doesn't get you #8 OA in the draft why would it get you former #8 defenseman with 3 years of development.

Understand but I can’t think of a team more desperate for a goalie than Edm. Broberg also wasn’t good enough to play for you guys in the playoffs - not belittling him as I want to trade for him obviously. I edited the trade.

Oilers had Nurse, Keith and Kulak on LD after the deadline so wasn't really room for Broberg (rookie) in the playoffs this year. Moving forward Keith has 1 year max remaining here and Kulak isn't signed yet so Broberg has a spot on the Oilers shortly.

Husso rights are probably worth a 5th rounder not a top4 D prospect.

I know Broberg has been good and is 3 years younger, but I’m confident that I’d rather have Perunovich

If we didn’t already have the exact same player in Krug signed for the next 5 years I might agree. I really don’t think they will both play in the same line up and Krug has a no trade so…

You are also getting Barbeshev and Perrunovich in deal. Understand not wanting to do. Perrunovich would be ideal with Oilers speed tho and Barbeshev is cheap for 1 year, had 60 pts last year, and hits like a freight train

Perunovich may look similar, but he’s gonna be much stronger defensively and less aggressive offensively. I think he’s quietly gonna put up dominant defensive numbers in 2nd pair minutes kinda like Spurgeon early in his career. Much smarter and more calculated than Krug.

I’ll admit I’m biased against smaller dmen. No team has won the cup recently with small dmen. No one on Ning is under 6’2”. The only small dman on Colorado is Girard who’s 5’10” got hurt by the aforementioned Barbeshev. Some might say Makar is smaller at 5’11” but he’s not human…
