Debrusk will stay in Boston now that Cassidy is gone. And that does not help them if they were trading him anyway.

The Jets aren't retaining and trading Helly for a couple late 1sts.

You have to be an Anaheim fan to appreciate how unintentionally hilarious this offer is. Hellebuyck is a wonderful goalie who is 29 years old and has two years left on his contract. The difference between his figures for this past season and John Gibson's are a quarter of a goal per game and 6 goals out of 1,000 shots. Yet Helly is worth two firsts, an A defense prospect and an over-the-horizon second, while half the Toronto fanbase says Gibson is garbage and isn't worth a first and Rasmus Sandin, despite the 5 years' term.

Hey look, another Leafs team where their fans think people will do them favours because of their cap mismanagement.

The Jets are not retaining any salary on a Hellebuyck trade.

Yeah, I can understand. Although in some ways paying Gibson $6.4 until he's 34 could be a downside. But he should still have really good value.

It's the same thing the Jets get with Scheifele. Somehow one year of Miller is worth 2 first round picks, both in the upper half of the draft, an A prospect and depending on the Canuck fan maybe even more. Yet for two years of Scheifele and 6 straight years of PPG 1C production is worth a bottom 6 player and a B/C prospect max.

It all depends on who are the "in" players to hate on at a certain time.

I like Muzzin, but Florida would only entertain that trade if they are successful in moving Bob. Wouldn’t have the cap space otherwise.
