Description

Vegas sheds over 4 million in cap space, adds a dynamic star forward and two cheap, depth Dmen to give them a push to contend next season. Ferland's LTIR contract gives them some more flexibility too. But it's definitely an all-in trade scenario for them.

VAN gets a solid package that includes 3 younger players that can be long term pieces as well as two picks to continue stocking the cupboards.

I see what you're trying to do with the Vegas trade, but I have a hard time seeing them trade away Whitecloud. He's on a good, very team friendly contract and is becoming a good leader in their defense. IMO, they would try their best to keep him

Hague and Roy to a division rival. Costs Van 1st and 2nd. Division premium. Vegas keeps Whitecloud, their 1st and 2nd. Van can make up the picks trading Miller somewhere else.

Don’t underrate Whitecloud. Only 2 defenseman have suppressed shots at a lower rate the last 3 seasons (>1000 minutes). Whitecloud is pretty much untouchable.

Vegas already solved their cap issues. Canucks can only retain on one more player. I don't necessarily like that Schenn and Dermott are in the deal just to swap same positions for higher contracts back. Neither do I think this Canucks forward group is better. Roy had a solid year when offense was way up. It's TBD on him imo though he fits a need, I'd rather not see Pearson being relied on in the top 6.
