Don’t feel comfortable trading Jokiharju because our right side will be depleated

Buffalo says no to the swap for Boeser unless Vancouver takes Bryson instead of Jokiharju and Boeser's extension is agreed to before the trade.

Otherwise, Buffalo takes the Garland deal by offering Bryson and the Vegas 2nd in 2023 while taking on Ferland's cap hit as well.

Bryson and a 2nd for Garland? That's an insulting offer

The Kings trade is the most used out of all the Canuck threads I've looked at and most of them think it's fair value. The Kings would address their wing needs and the Canucks get their need in Right hand defense and a pick.

Is Grans that overwhelming a prospect? He's been ranked as the Kings' 7th / 8th best prospect at the moment and the 2nd rounder from LA isn't going to be significantly better in a weaker draft than the VGK 2nd next year.

Not even sure why the Canucks would want to give up on Garland after only 1 year anyway.....

Garland isn't an untouchable, but the Canucks aren't actively shopping him. If they do move him, it will be for way more than you proposed

      Kings' D prospects (tiered):

      Clarke (RD)
      Faber (RD)

      Durzi (RD)

      Bjornfot (LD)
      Spence (RD)
      Grans (RD)

      Kirsanov (LD)
      Nouisianen (LD)

But keep in mind the kings' prospect pool is much deeper than most teams'. Spence would be the top D prospect on a good 10-15 teams.

I've never understood the concept of "weaker draft" or "stronger draft," which seems to me to apply only to the top 10 or so prospects. Look at 2015, when the top 10 included McDavid, Eichel, Marner, Hanifin, Provorov, Werenski, Meier and Rantanen: Carolina selected Sebastian Aho at #35. Did that make it a "stronger" draft? Not for Montreal, who chose Noah Juulsen at #26, or Anaheim, who selected Jakob Larsson at #27. Did that make it a "weaker" draft for them? Not when both could have chosen Brandon Carlo (#37, whom the Bruins had passed over THREE times), or Erik Cernak (#43). To me, whether a draft is "weak" or "strong" doesn't matter on whom the other guys choose; it depends only on whom YOU choose.

IMO we are under estimating the value of Olofsson.
Victor will have a big year in 2022-23 outscoring Brock by 5 goals at 75% the cap hit.
IDK why Buffalo is circulating rumors that he will be traded, he and Jeff give Buffalo two top 6 LW.
https://dobberhockey.com/2022/05/24/free-agency-2022-salary-projections-for-the-top-150-free-agents/ has his projected salary at $3,885,900,
Cap Friendly https://www.capfriendly.com/qualifying-offer-calculator/brock-boeser has Brock's QO at $7,500,000
I liked him from the first time I saw him compete in the prospect challenge with how quickly he could release his wrist shot.
He is more than a PP specialist.
While that may have been true his first two years only 7 of his 20 goals came on the PP this year.
Brock on the other hand has 11 PP goals of his 24 this year.

Because of the salary premium I need to pay Brock, I would not do a one for one at this time.
Let me add, Quinn will outscore both of them in two years, let me keep Victor and build a team to compete in two years.
