Easy no for Dallas. Grush is a no go. Trading Jani for Petry doesn’t ADD a RHD to the lineup

i dont think 1 dubois hauls that much or 2 is even worth that much. hes really overrated in my eyes. good but not great. worth only 6.5-7.5 mil for a long term deal

I agree. It's a scenario when Habs can get him without really putting a dent in the rebuild, while also demonstrating an overpay. Sign him 1yr twice before his UFA extension. See what the Habs really have.

My issue with the trade is the RD swap. Dallas needs to add RD, instead of simply swapping their only true RD for another one. Take Hakanpaa out of the deal and add another piece of equal value & it's one of the more fair Petry to Dallas trades I've seen on CapFriendly.

I like Grushnikov, but he's pretty clearly a tier (or two) below the Bourque, Johnston, and Stankoven trio. With Heiskanen and Harley in Dallas for the long term future & Lindell likely not going anywhere anytime soon, Grushnikov is expendable.

I do consider Grush in the second tier as you said, but our lack of d prospects is why I don’t consider him expendable. I’d move him in the right deal, but Petry isn’t the right deal

Too many dimes and nickels, with no high quality pieces. Winnipeg says no.

Petry is a stud. I understand if you don't know this. But the guy is a legit 2 way beast.

I wasn’t turning my nose up at his ability. I was turning my nose up at his age. I don’t want to move quality pieces for a guy we will only have for 2-3 years. None of those years being prime years
