I saw that report on the Islanders and Thier interest in Anderson and as a Habs fan I'll tell you right now, if we actually get 13th overall for him I may just end up as a Kent Hughes biggest fan because I don't see it

That's certainly a tanking lineup with Myers on the top pair and no Kaiden Guhle in sight.

Threw up in my mouth a bit at the thought of Slafkovsky being number 1. The trades look okish. Moving up 8 spots from 26th to 18th ain't worth much especially in a weak draft. Wouldn't do that and take on Khudobin as well as give up Petry. Not too thrilled with just the 13th OA for Anderson rather go after a legit prospect as the draft has more below average/have more question marks than usual in the mid teens.

As an Isles fan I'll be so annoyed. We would need some ridiculous other moves to follow. I'd much rather package #13 with other pieces Lou deems expendable for one significant asset. Anderson is very bleh and never healthy

I know 13th OA sounds nice but this draft is quite shallow. It really is luck of the draw. If you're giving up a legit NHL'r in demand and they have no pressing need to trade Josh, why not go for something a bit more safe like a prospect that has developped a bit?

I liked what Hughes did with the Avs, Flames and Panthers trades, he got picks and prospects.

He is a good enough player but the 13th overall isn't something I'd personally give up for him.

I still think that if you have a shot at Nazar or Mirochenko in that spot you give up Anderson to take that chance.

This is only a scenario where the Habs take Slaf and folow with BPA. I personally have Wright #1, simply a scenario here

I just seems so counter intuitive. The flash and grandiose nature of the draft in Montreal I think is clouding Habs fan judgement here to just go crazy collecting picks. The expectation just for example was Lehkonen getting maybe a 1st at TDL and once they got Barron and a pick, Habs fans were over the moon. But now ppl are regretting trading Lehkonen after seeing him perform so well in the playoffs again.

The Habs already have 14 picks this draft and the feeling is that they will move up by trading multiple picks as they need quality not quantity so why are they trading a legit talent like Anderson for another maybe?
Its like they needed to be reminded of Lehkonen's value at the TDL. I think ppl need to be reminded of Anderson value now. He was a catalyst for Suzuki-Caufield at the end of the season and he'll have a lot of value with all the prospects coming into the lineup especially Wright whom should mesh well him with as they both complement each other from the outside with Anderson speed, tenacity off the rush and Wright elite playmaking and 200 foot game.
I'd be far more excited insolating the number 1 pick than havign another lottery ballswhen the draft rankings at that range are all over the place. The habs still need some kind of culture, they cant move everyone of value. We saw how the kids dont mesh well without leadership in Buffalo and Edmonton. Its nice to say you'll just some sign old guy like Andrew Ference to be your captain in Edmonton but he wasnt captain material really because he wasnt a marquee player and it bled down to the rest of the roster
