    So and injury riddled Erik Johnson and a 2nd for Nikita Kucherov, Yeah not even close Yzerman laughs at Sakic and tells him to never call him again.

    Slavin and Peace are the two best Dmen for the Canes. They are young, cheap and under control for years. Duchene is expensive and only two more left his contract. Stop drinking the Sakic Soda (lemondade) and how valuable Duchene is. Any trade involves getting money back and likely not a great return.

    Pesce is at best CAR's third best d-man . He has a lot of potential but, that by no means makes him untouchable. Duchene is a number one center on most NHL teams and CAR barely has a number one or two. Need forces action and Carolina has a need.

    Canes best dman are hanifin and faulk. Canes in 2 years have 3 potential top 4 dman to pay in hanifin, Slavin and Pearce. Why not gamble one away and get duchene and see where you guys end up. Duchene gives you a 1C with speed, skill and the need for a fresh start. You have the dman needed to make the deal plus picks in 1 1st and 3 2nds. There is a deal to be made.

    hanifin+1st for duchene+bigras
    Hanifin + 2nd for duchene
    Pearse + 1st + 2nd for duchene + colbourne

    Sorry if you haven't seen a NHL game in a few years, but Slavin and Pesce have surpassed other Canes Dmen as their top two guys. And your think 41 point Duchene is an improvement on any of the other Canes centres. Maybe previously in his career, but now he's not the 6m dollar man, but a 6m liability.

    Its a bad trade but I wouldnt call EJ a bust. He still is a very serviceable and solid Dman. Hes a 2-3 on most teams. 1st overall franchise Dman good,...no, but to say a dman who has played 575 NHL games a bust. Thats a bit of a stretch
