As crazy good McDonagh would be on the Canes, we can’t afford him, at least not without shipping out Skjei and another piece/getting retention. Bear and a 3rd for Killorn I would do though. Just make it a 3 team trade for retention.

And that’s the thing. Skjei-Pesce is just too good a pairing to break up now. One of the best analytical pairings in the league, both in terms of a playmaking and a shutdown pairing. If the Canes were to trade Skjei, it would be for a long term investment in a potential upgrade at LD. The only one that might fit that bill and is potentially available is Chychrun.
