Well again another Petey trade. Wow shocking. When do you thi I that the Wings have interest in Petry? Reports have Wings interested but nothing here in the D about Yzerman wanting Petry. Again a team in a rebuild, that trades a YOUNG player for a more expensive, older player is just not feasible.

I think they are looking to change direction, it was 6 years ago since their 25 year post-season streak ended. Question is would acquiring Petry impede on the playing time of young D-man they intend to play.

Yzerman has been the GM for 3 years, so I think Det will be a bubble team fir the next two seasons, and they would be looking to compete for sure after that, they would have an 8 year streak of missing if they miss in the nex two years.

Petry's hit for the next 3 years wouldn't look pretty.

From a Wings perspective: Petry trade is better, not close, but better than the “Petry for a 1st” or “Petry for Zadina 1 for 1” nonsense.
