I'll give you points for creativity, this is certainly different from the usual Mrazek to CHI deals.

I'm not too crazy about it, though.

Yeah it's just not a smart idea for the leafs to move a first for anything other than a top 2 D or top LW so for this trade the leafs respectfully decline

These are creative. Not sure how I feel about the values but they seem pretty good given all the moving parts.

Canes would pursue DeBrincat before going after Kane.

I don't think the Canes have a package that can match up to what other teams would be offering. Unless they're going to move Jarvis++ I don't see it happening

The Canes would be more likely do something similar to the Leafs trade here - move a pick to the Hawks for them to take Gardiners contract and 50% of JVR. I’m not crazy about the JVR fit with Carolina, but that would be more likely than going after Kane or DeBrincat

Canes fans let’s not be ridiculous here. This deal adds a 90 point scorer to our top 6 and costs us 1.2 mil in cap space, an exciting prospect but one with holes in his game, and (hopefully) a late first rounder. Instantly improves our PP as well. Plus then we can trade necas for a second to replenish our picks some. We’re not getting Debrincat without giving up Jarvis. This move improves the team significantly next year. Canes should jump all over this if offered
