Buffalo isn't trading futures for what would essentially be a 2 year rental. They aren't a Scheifele away from being a playoff team and that 1st is likely a lottery pick for another year. They aren't in win now mode.

Edmonton would decline if you cut that ask in half it's way way way too much. Name one goalie that commanded even 2 first round picks your wanting at least 4 with extra assets thrown in.

i'd say about the oilers trade, it'd be more like, 1 of bourgeault or savoie + one of JP or Yamo. 2023 1st + 2nd + b prospect (like samorukov, lavoie range). you get a first and A grade prospect + middle 6 young guy with high potential and b prospect and solid draft pick. would be very fair for a goalie with only 2 YL
