A player re-signing can’t be part of a conditional pick anymore (regardless isles accept that)

If the Canucks play all their chips correctly, they will DEFINITELY be a playoff team, I have no doubt

Also, re-signing conditions aren't allowed to be put on draft picks traded for rentals anymore

Don't think Isles take this, having Scott on such a low cap hit is big for them since they want to compete again this year.

Pearson gets at least a 3rd and while I'd love to get a 2nd for Schenn I doubt it'll happen

I wouldnt a 2nd and a 3rd for mayfield. We could get a 1st and a 3rd at the TDL

Nobody is paying a 1st and a 3rd for Mayfield, he's an inferior defenseman to Chiarot and inferior to the defenseman David Savard was at the previous trade deadline

Nope, I stand corrected. Although the Islanders probably only move Mayfield at the deadline if they aren't making the playoffs next year, and we all know how polarizing the Islanders missing the playoffs a 2nd consecutive year is going to be

No doubt

Boston however is probably going to be miserable coming out of the gate

Ottawa and New Jersey are going to be looking to be relevant next season, but if either get off to a dreadful start, Dorion/Fitzgerald respectively will be gone for sure

I don't expect Columbus or Detroit to be much of anything next year

Pittsburgh and Washington should still be competitive next season, but I don't expect either of them to be world beaters

Damn, Isles have a Right Side Defence worth talking about with Pulock, Dobson, and Mayfield.
