That trade makes no sense for the Devils....also Wood's QO is $3.5, so you wouldn't get him at that price unless he isn't qualified.

Miles Wood will not be offered a $3.5 million contract by any team and won't be qualified. Worst case he goes on waivers in that case. You can get Ilya Mikheyev cheaper and phenomenal at $1 mill discount

Seattle would much rather bank on Donskoi having a bounce back season than Mrazek, then flipping him to a contender instead. With so many other options to acquire another goaltender, rolling the dice on an underperforming goalie earning 3.8 million for the next 2 seasons makes little sense for Seattle.
