Description
Isles need some defensive help, Lou seems like the kind of gm who'd take a chance on an aging Scandella for some reason lol and in all fairness to Scandella he hasn't been as bad as some fans make him out to be, he just doesn't fit the Blues need and makes a smidgen too much for a 3rd pair role here. If nobody is willing to pay for Scandella, pay to move him. Debrusk wanted a trade, Vladi wanted a trade so makes sense for these two teams to be trade partners. I really don't know if this trade is fair value either direction. Vladi would fit well in Boston and give them a pretty lethal top 6. We get a young, skilled LW who can get on the forecheck with speed in Debrusk and he'd be back with a familiar face in Krug (they had some good chemistry on the pp in boston, lots of tip ins) also if Kadri sticks around in the division it adds more fuel to that fire... maybe unwise but entertaining. we also get a hometown bruiser who can play up and down the line up with Fredric. I think Debrusk could fit well here and not end up costing nearly as much as Vladi to resign unless he really lights it up for 2 seasons... which would be a good thing. We free up enough space to give Husso a big dollar sign for 1 year while we see what we have in Hofer and can trade him at the deadline if need be. See if Charlie will return to play 2nd fiddle to Hofer, they'll push eachother. We have a pretty skilled, hard hitting 4th line here. I see Neighbours making the team and bouncing around the line up with a few guys until we find chemistry. Him and Schenn make sense. Brown and Walker I'm sure will see plenty of time on the 3rd and 4th line as well. Trade for Provorov and cross your fingers he's a good fit (I'm willing to bet he succeeds greatly here). Not sure if this trade gets it done but I'm sure we can make something appealing enough. If we can keep Perunovich, keep him... kid could be really special. I know not signing Perron seems like a sin and I would if he's willing to take 1 year at similar aav and we're confident in Binnington and whoever else would be our back up besides Husso. Charlie or Hofer could do it cheap but I'm not sure you gamble on that especially if Binner gets hurt. Also have to consider who all needs to get resigned next offseason and what their pay days will probably look like... or if Tkachuk makes it to free agency lol. Keeping Barbashev around here because he's pretty versatile and am not sure if last season was a total fluke or not. He's young, could have another great season and stick around at a reasonable price if we end up letting O'Reilly walk and running Schenn, Thomas, Barbie up the middle (in favor of extending O'Reilly now). Would be interested in the Puljujarvi, Barbie swap I've seen too though. Overall I think this team loses a bit up front in favor of solidifying the D, keeping the goalie position solid for the season and preparing for Kyrou and Thomas pay days. I have Perron and Husso sitting in LTIR at 5 mil cap hit (Probably more than what 1 year of Husso would cost)because to me it's one direction or the other.

Definitely interesting for Philly
Our D is a bit weak and our D prospect pool is kinda shallow so they might be looking for a more promising D youth back but Buldoc is a nice enough piece that I think it could convince the Flyers to pull the trigger

You’re over the cap - why are Perron and Husso on LTIR

Because they're injured until I say so... but no I get it, team explanation TLDR. Theyre just there to chill out for visible representation. Can't sign both in this scenario, gotta pick one.

I'm actually good with taking on Scandella. I've always liked him. But there's no way we're paying for him outright. It needs to be a salary dump trade.

It was kind of wishful thinking lol. For whatever reason I just thought Isles would be a good fit.

We're definitely not a bad fit stylistically. But cap wise it's not a good move unless we can unload salary.
