When did the value of goalies cost 2 first round picks?
If I am Oilers GM I would rather test free agency. And Holloway is going no where. That is for sure.

Trading your best prospect and a former first rounder (4th OV)+ 2nd would be a mistake. Better to give a 1st+JP+2nd and even that is more than you would typically give for a goalie of Jarry's caliber.

JP isn't living up to being taken so high but he isn't Yakupov yet.

Steady Freddy and Jarry have similar career win rates and career .SV (Andersen better in his first 6 years). Andersen was acquired for a 1st and 2nd although there was the expansion draft looming. He was also a pending RFA with 3 years playing vs Jarry who has 6.

"Real Deal Freddy Andersen
At the time of his acquisition, Andersen was just 26 years old. He had already notched a 30-win season with the Ducks in 2014-15 recording 35, and his record through his first 125 regular season games was impressive. While a member of the Ducks, he finished with a record of 77-26-12 with a .918 save percentage and 2.33 goals against average and he carried that through to his debut season with the Leafs."

"[Gibson] played 167 games for the Ducks over parts of five seasons with an 87-52-19 record to show for it. He has a career .923 save percentage and 2.29 goals against average."

Anaheim Ducks Acquire:

2016 1st round pick (PIT - #30 - Sam Steel)
2017 2nd round pick (SJS - #50 - Maxime Comtois) [Conditional]*
*Conditions: Based on final draft position, Anaheim will acquire the middle pick of the 3 picks Toronto owns in the 2017 draft (Ottawa 2nd round pick, San Jose 2nd round pick and Toronto 2nd round pick).

Result: Anaheim will receive Sharks 2nd round pick.
