Nucks Ideal Offseason

Created by: Danny_MrGM_Briere
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 29, 2022
Published: Jun. 29, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Flip JVR and Lucic (if you can) at deadline. Hold onto Dickinson to see if he gets any better next season, also not worth paying to move Poolman. Keep Myers, 2 years isn’t bad especially for the Canucks. If not making playoffs in 23-24 can retain him at deadline

Matt Knies for Luke Schenn huh? That's a new one. Too bad Jake Muzzin has no value to anyone - he's only been good when he's played.

All of these trades favour the Canucks heavily, except the Miller one, which the Canucks easily decline for a better offer from elsewhere.

Now is not the time for a 5 year rebuild, which is what this looks like as the 22-23 roster is not improved, and all the value in picks 1-2 years away, meaning years before any of them crack the lineup.

Detroit passes, not giving up a 1st and equivalent 2nd for Garland.

And zero chance of Oliver Ekman-Larsson wasting his time in Chicago. not enough Swedes on that team.

Muzzin is good, that’s why I’m trading for him. But I have a feeling the leafs will try to dump him to make cap space, and that comes with a price when trading a depth guy on 5+ mil. Maybe the Canucks make that 2nd a 1st, I don’t really know how good Knies is so…

Muzzin has value and isn’t a cap dump like some think. Leafs don’t consider this, Schenn would be a 7th dman currently and the leafs certainly aren’t going to give up Matthew Knies without a top 6 forward, top 4 defenceman or a capable goalie coming in return

Canes aren’t going to be wasting their assets on Miller.

He’s the Leafs Top Prospect & is looking like a beast of Power forward 100% guaranteed to be i the Top 6 within a year or two

Hmm, thanks for the insight. You think he’s better than Nick Robertson?

Leafs decline. I’d rather ride out the last two years of muzzins contract OR pay for a third to go retain so he can get traded somewhere else for a realistic return. Knies is off the table
