If Dubois is signing that extension, he's staying in Winnipeg. Outside of that, 2 years of Dubois is worth a ton more than 2 years of Nylander and Winnipeg doesn't need a soft expensive winger. So, I'd have to think Winnipeg says no.

Montreal have absolutely nothing to gain from that trade. Harris is young and under control for year to come and the 3rd round pick is a top 65.

Kerfoot isn’t any better then Dvorak for a 2nd line centerman job. Waste of asset for Hugues here. Who care about centerman depth Montreal are in a rebuilt, they will buy low not gave away prospect for average players.

habs are retooling. they get a 50 pt center for a 3rd and a 7th/8th dman. that's way cheaper than what the habs paid for dvorak.

Kerfoot isn’t a 50 point centerman. He reach that milestone only once and he did it majorly playing wing with top offensive players. And there no more Bergevin bullshat of retooling, Higues and Gorton have been clear that they want to built a winning team for yeR and year to come. Acquiring a average centerman by giving up a good prospect in Harris is not the way to achieved that.

sounds like they're retooling.

harris isn't a good prospect. he's a c prospect.

kerfoot is a 50pt center. thats good enough to be 2nd on the habs in scoring.

Harris is a good prospect, but is ceiling is not superstar material. Is skating abilities alone make him a good prospect. And Kerfoot could be the first in point that it would still be a stupid move to make. Especially in the current situation that the Habs are in with the Salary cap. And I don’t know where you get your information but retooling is not a word use in any press conference buy either Hugues or Gorton. Bergevin is drinking cocktail in LA

kerfoot is better than evans and niemela is better than harris

its more like the habs counter with evans for abruzzese + 3rd.

Kerfoot as a rental for 3.5M has little to no value for the habs unless they want him as investment to play top 6 minutes and hope he playes well enough again to return a nice package at trade deadline with 50% retaind, but giving him top 6 minutes would hurt the development of other prospects, harris is a very good prospect and they shouldn't give him up so fast.
