This team can go a lot of ways

Created by: Rangers13232
Team: 2022-23 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 29, 2022
Published: Jun. 29, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Really wanted to make a French Line (PLD Laf Blais) but Kakko needs top 6 minutes. I think Jones gets a chance this year to play. Schneider looked responsible enough to support a pretty pure offensive defenseman. See how it works, if it doesn't, go get another Braun. I think Reavo should be traded, but I don't see it happening. Rangers loved Blackwell, it sucked to see him go. Give him another ride.

Wild just got less for Fiala. I'n using that as the market setter for RFA rights. Rangers 1st is much less valuable so I threw in an extra prospect.

If Dubois signs that extension, he stays in Winnipeg.

You're missing one fairly large difference between the PLD and Fiala situations. Minnesota had no choice other than trading Fiala as they didn't have the cap space. Winnipeg isn't being forced to move Dubois now.

Georgiev is definitely coming off a bad year but he's a career 908 goalie that is relatively low cost and would be attractive for capped out teams with cup hopes, looking at you Toronto and Edmonton. I don't think you have to give him away.

Really all that matters is they don't have any cap coming back in a trade

I don't think WPG has much leverage. I don't think he wants to play there from what I've heard

I think you can get a second. May have to settle for a 3rd but you can get picks.

The only thing that has been said so far is that he wants to go to UFA in two years. He's never said anything about not wanting to play in Winnipeg. At least that we've heard of from a credible source.

So, the Jets leverage is fine unless something changes.
