Great signing, with which Rob Blake achieves one of his two announced goals for the Kings this season. I can't wait for October!

If he keeps playing at the level he is, he'll probably out grow this contract... risky deal but could lead to a very high reward.

I know that Minnesota could not have signed him
I know that Minnesota had no leverage
I know that Minnesota couldn't keep him no matter what they did
But man, this stings and stings bad

I disagree. I think we give him a contract til the cap goes up in 4 years. He likes Columbus and has said so multiple times. Gonna be a 4 or 5 year contract at 8.5 mil

Umm delusional

Laine and his agency has a plan and he is two 1 year deals or 2 year deal away from that plan.

I remember a player that scored a bunch of goals out of nowhere, got his payday and sat on it. Is Fiala the next Skinner? This contract will basically make the Kings cup contenders or they'll be stuck with an albatross for almost a decade.

But there's one thing : Fiala played with Frederik Gaudreau at center, not with Eichel, and still managed to pull 85 pts

This contract should cover all his best years, but it’s a bit risky because he’s only had one season that justifies this contract. There’s a lot of players who have one great season and never get back to that level. Because he’s only 25, this concerns me less than it would with an older player like Nazim Kadri – 2021-22 was probably more likely a breakout season than an anomaly – but it concerns me enough to hope they haven’t made it too difficult to get rid of him if it doesn’t work out. (Looks like we’re still waiting for those details.)

This is exactly what the Kings needed, they needed a guy like Fiala, someone that can really change the game. This is something the Kings have lacked for a while now. The closest thing the Kings had to a game changer before they acquired Fiala was Arvidsson or Danault.
