Description

Apparently he's asking for the low 8's and Fiala just signed for $7.875m, so $8.25m makes sense to me. Maybe they do something silly like $8.09m or something too

Bring in a couple of 1-year vets with playoff experience and cups (Killorn at least-- although he wasn't very good this playoffs)
Add Marchment who fits the new NSH identity

1st and 2nd lines play about the same amount of minutes
3rd and 4th lines play about the same amount of minutes

If NSH doesn’t give him that contract with a full NTC they are insane. Forsberg is the best forward they’ve had in their history. I would be all over him in a sign-and-trade for the 8th year if Poile doesn’t come to his senses, because I don’t think the issue is with the Forsberg camp. They are basically asking for market equivalent of a $9.4x7 deal on the open market but keeping the AAV down using the 8th year

The idea was that the Myers buyout is advantageous for TBL next season since they would actually gain about $650k in cap space or so (though they would then be -$650k in cap space the following season).

they would probably look for another piece if the plan is to just buy him out, Next year Tampa needs to sign Colton, Foote, Cernak, Sergy, and Cirelli and still have Seabrook on LTIR so no cap space will be gained throughout the year. I think if the package was a 2nd and 4th with Myers or the 2 3rds with Myers, Tampa would probably do that

Fair enough-- yeah, that cap savings would work perfectly if only they were signing those guys this year. But at that price for Killorn, I would just look elsewhere.
