Wild prospect team

Created by: SimonSelaars3
Team: 2022-23 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 29, 2022
Published: Jun. 29, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I created some players that I think could be targets in the draft next week.

19 - Danila Yurov
24- Filip Mesar
47 - Filip Bystedt
56 - Jani Nyman

I don’t expect them to take any Defenseman with at least the first 3 picks in this years draft considering how deep the D pool is right now.

PS, I know Boldy isn’t a prospect anymore but he’s barely 21 years old so I included him.

Top Needs for MN coming into this draft, CENTER!

Also another higher end goalie prospect would be nice, outside of Wallstedt there isn’t much to be excited about.

Yurov at 19 would be a steal, I'd be really happy with that pick

He’s likely to fall due to the whole Russian ties but you can’t punish an 18 year old kid who has nothing to do with what’s going on with Russia and Ukraine right now. He’d be my preferred pick at 19. If Marco Kasper falls to around 10-13 I would be happy to see Guerin trade up to try and grab him. Rossi and Kasper are very familiar with each other both being natives of Austria plus Kasper fills our biggest need at center and has arguably the one of the highest floors in the entire draft so he’s be a pretty safe pick.

My dream draft haul is Brad Lambert falling to 19 and Gleb Trikozov at 24

Personally not a fan of Kasper. Don't think he has a high offensive ceiling which is what we need. But to each their own cheers

I’m not huge on Lambert, he’s one of the best skaters I’ve ever seen at his age but he just doesn’t do much for me. I don’t know enough about Trikozov to comment on him but based on projections I’d be willing to bet we could get him at 47.

One thing is for sure though, draft week just got far more interesting for Wild fans.

I think a lot of Lambert's lack of production came down to circumstance and not really his play. I think he has a ton of potential and with the depth of the current prospect pool, I think that's the type of prospect we should be shooting for. Especially in the latter half of the 1st round.

Trikozov is another high upside prospect and while I do agree that we could potentially nab him in the 2nd round, I personally wouldn't risk it

I would go after Rutger McGroarty over Mesar personally.

Also hope that one of Nazar or Kasper drop enough for Guerin to move up to nab one of them

Go after any 2 of those 3 if possible or one of them and Lambert if possible. Centers can be moved to wing if necessary. But go after Centers first and foremost and double down on the position in the 1st.
