Deep Playoff Push

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Here are some moves I think the Leafs should at least explore. Holl, Kerfoot, and Mrazek have to go to free up cap space. Kerfoot is maybe the least likely since he is still a valuable piece to the team and has had some decent play the last couple of playoffs. Wedgewood and Strome are Toronto boys that are passionate about the city, may be willing to take a discount, and could seriously help this team. Strome would be great on the left wing on any line while Wedgewood has proved he is a legitimate backup goalie that can steal games here and there. The big trade involves accquiring Gibson and Comtois from Anahiem for a package of prospects, players, and picks. The Leafs need a legit goalie which is what Gibson provides and they will need to give up more to have salary retained as well as get Comtois who is a player on trade block and can form a very solid third line with Kampf and Accari who we have signed in free agency. The main piece in the trade is Robertson who is the Leafs top prospect but I just don't see fitting into the lineup. He would be a great piece on Anahiem beside a play maker like Zegras. I have Stepan signing as he is a veteran center that has been deep in the playoffs and knows what it takes to win. Blackwell resiging would be great as he is fast and has grit which can be used anywhere the Leafs can get. They could go out and sign another winger for the 4th line but as of right now I think Clifford and Simmonds can rotate through that position and provide the toughness the Leafs need. The D-Core should stay the same with the likes of Holl gone as you will provide more opportunity for Lilijgren and Sandin to continue to develop. If problems occur with the d core I would look to trade or sign a veteran defencemen as they already have enough top defencmen to be fine and make a push.

Future Considerations; maybe they throw in Boston 7th from 2024 but that's what it will cost to get rid of Mrazek. I am a fan of his but he has really struggled. It's not like the Leafs are playing bad infront of him some games it is just him not playing well. Going to Arizona and playing well can boost his stock and he can find his way back to a contender.
    2.
    TOR
    1. 2023 4th round pick (STL)
    Additional Details:
Holl would help add depth to St Louis defence and could be a good stabilizer to an offensive defencemen like a Torey Krug. Don't really see his value being more than a 4th, could be less but I think Toronto needs to free that cap space up.
    3.
    TOR
    1. Strome, Dylan [RFA Rights]
    Additional Details:
His RFA rights could definetly be worth less than this but lets just say this is the package. They get Anderson who deserves an NHL roster spot and will help with their rebuild/retool as well as a 4th round pick. Leafs get Dylan Strome who is a young player and quietly had a good season depiste struggling early on. I can see him playing first line and moving Bunting down or second line with Tavares and Nylander.
    CHI
    1. Anderson, Joey
    2. 2023 4th round pick (STL)
    4.
    TOR
    1. Comtois, Maxime
    2. Gibson, John ($2,000,000 retained)
    Additional Details:
The blockbuster move leafs have to make. They need a #1 goalie simple as that. Gibson has experience and would instantly give them top 10 goaltending in the league. Comtois is a player who struggled a bit last year but finished off strong with a good showing at the World Championships. Leafs pay a lot but also need salary retained, I wouldn't be opposed to adding more if this is not enough because Leafs have to make that goaltending splash. Anahiem gets a mid 3rd round pick along with Robertson who is the Leafs top prospect and needs to start playing in the NHL. They get a solid bottom 6 young player in Steeves as well as a good puck moving defencemen in Hollowell. They also get Kerfoot who can instantly make an impact on that team and play along side their good young core while providing valuable expeirence.

Blues have little cap space so they decline unless they can move out Scandella

Holl is a defensive defencmen not offensive. I imagine they will make moves in offseason and free up cap, not like they're paying a lot for him, could see him going somewhere else as well just think he'd fit well

Still we need a left handed Defensive dman to pair with Parakyo not a guy that would be a 7th dman here but especially at 2 mil
Hell I’d rather keep Scandella over Holl

An expensive one-year rental and three guys who have a combined 19 NHL games under their belt is an absurd return for Max Comtois, never mind the idiot half of the Toronto fanbase that thinks Gibson isn't worth this garbage.

Strome, your probably looking at a late 2nd/early 3rd for his rights. Particularly based off Fiala's move.

What is it with Leafs fans sending Holl to STL? It makes zero sense, let it go already.

Even if they move out Scandella, there is no reason at all they'd want Holl. They'd want another LD even more.
