What would an ideal offseason look like

Created by: QJohns62
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 29, 2022
Published: Jun. 29, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What would Vancouver's ideal offseason look like based off of rumours, and the MO of POHO JR and GM Allvin

Four objectives:

1) Fair trades for at least 2/3 rumoured high(er) price tag players (Miller, Boeser, Garland)

2) Clear cap space (one buyout allowed for, must trade one of Myers or OEL)

3) Prospect draft pool needs to be improved (via trade, UFAs)

4) RD and C need roster improvements (specifically a 3C, 4C, and Top 4 RD)

I think those are underpayments for most of the Canucks players

Fair enough, thought it made sense since he's back logged behind some solid players, it's clear the Canes want to make a run, and the comments post playoffs about not having enough skill is being addressed for fairly cheap at least next year with a 99 pt player

Fair opinion, I'd say it's important to keep in mind the players values around the league and not just to Vancouver

If that’s the return we’re getting is much rather just keep the players. None of those trades really make us better even in the long run

Buffalo isn’t making that trade at all. They don’t want Myers back, they aren’t giving up Jokiharju to get him, and giving up Peterka for Garland is just stupid. Garland is a fun player and all, but the belief around Buffalo is a Peterka could be everything that he already is for a lot less money. Buffalo doesn’t gain anything in this trade, except salary they don’t want.
