Serious tanking for Bedard

Created by: Angusc
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 27, 2022
Published: Jun. 30, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Note, I'm well aware that this is a terrible team. But if the Canucks wanted to get Bedard, the only way I can think of is to trade our star players who don't want to be in another rebuild to get as many 2022 1st rounders, take on bad players/contracts to gain draft capital and flip them to teams who most likely won't be in the playoffs for their 2023 1sts.

That 2022 1st from Philly, they can use it on whatever player they want. Values may be off though with some of those trades.

    Detroit declines.

    1. We have eight LD prospects 23 or younger in Edvinsson, Johansson, Wallinder, Viro, Buium, McIsaac, Sebrango, Juolevi. We don't need to trade for star players for that position.
    2. Detroit is still a rebuilding team and rebuilding teams don't pay four assets to get one player. That's the sort of deals teams that are contending for the cup do.

This is just such a dumb move and a perfect way to lose many fans. Y’all have a good team and want to blow it up for a shiny new toy lol. Also that devils trade is just laughable. That’s essentially 4 1st round picks for Petterson, a guy who has never even hit 70 points in a season. None of those assets listed gets that trade done except Muk with obviously a bit more coming back. Mercer has incredible potential, 2OA has incredible value, and the 2023 1st in a very deep draft has incredible value. AND ON TOP OF THAT, where would the devils even use him? We have our top 2 centers locked in already, we don’t need another. Sounds like you just need some sort of reality check to realize Vancouver has good pieces, they just need a competent gm to stop shooting the team in the foot.
