WPG and PLD

Description
Apparently, and take this with a grain of salt, PLD only wants to sign longterm with MTL otherwise, he will take a 2 year deal to get to UFA to sign with MTL.

My take: thats BS, however, the following trade could permit the habs to draft Slaf of one of Nemec or Jirichek.

Trade wise - if you look at the price paid for Fiala... Thats more than enough for PLD.

I know Jets fan are very touchy when it comes to PLD - with reason, he's a decent player and their team is imploding in front of them.

A young top 4 LHD and two 1st will be good for the rebuild. Dvorak will be able to take #2C during that time until Perfetti comes to age.

Dadonov can be flipped at TD, just like Dvorak or Romanov.

That’s a hefty offer value wise (and I’m a Jets fan) and the Jets would be stupid to turn it down, but I would rather see Barron in there instead of Romanov as we don’t need any more lefties. I’d go,
Dvorak, Barron, FLA 1st, Montreal 22’ 2nd. Not sure what the cap situation would be but taking a short term cap hit could be worked in

    Hab fans every year

"The top FA or RFA only wants to sign in Montreal!"

Last place teams generally aren't top FA destinations.

From an outsiders perspective I don’t think this is far off, seems pretty fair. I think WPG could maybe use like one more smaller add coming their way for my taste, like a 3rd or 4th or something but that’s a little nit picky

That's good value, but with Romanov being an unneeded LD and Dvorak bring pretty meh. I would hope the Jets turn it down.

I think the Jets get better value keeping PLD for two years and trading him for a first and a prospect at the TDL.

Maybe, however, this trade is mostly in reaction to reports that Habs are picking Slaf and passing on Wright...

Dvorak outproduced Dubois at 5v5 with way worse linemates. I definitely don't think he's worth Romanov + 2 1sts more than Dvorak without a contract. Now if he were already signed to a sweet 8-year deal, that's another story.

Yeah, apparently Wright has slipped while other guys have gained. Do you think Montreal passes on Wright?

ZERO chance Habs include the 2013 Florida pick in a trade. Why would they get rid of that pick when there's a (slim) chance it becomes a lottery pick for Bedard?
    Replace the 2023 1st by a 2023 2nd and it still favors Winnipeg, value-wise.
