No thanks from TOR. They already have a goaltender with a not so great contract that they're trying to move, doesn't make sense to acquire another one.

TOR has been linked to Murray, but it would be with retention, a lot of it. If TOR wanted a $6million goalie, would pick the top FA and go.

I disagree with that. 50% retention for sure but how does Ottawa pay Murray 3 million and then pay Mrazek his contract? Would make more sense for them to buy out Murray. And then TO signs him for cheap.

Seems like a lot of movement on the goalie front to not end up with an upgrade.

Because the leafs already have a bad 3+ million dollar goalie, they arnt just getting another unless ottwa wants to do a swap, not to mention Mrazek's been good much more recently

Give Murray a competent defence and he's not a bad goalie.

He was lights out when the Pens were a good team. You don't win back to back cups by accident. Just like Mrazek is way better than just last season, Murray is better than he's looked the past few seasons. I would absolutely be thrilled to see him sign in TO if he gets bought out. A fresh start on a cheap contract could pay huge dividends.
