So what do they do with no top 6th depth now? Because aftet this trade they still have their original needs of a goalie and a top 6 winger and now they need another top 6 winger

kerfoot/tomasino/robertson. you have to compromise somewhere. the leafs tried compromising at d and that didn't work, next they tried compromising at g and that didn't work either.

I think a trade like this could be worked out, I like Tomasino a lot. Don’t think the Leafs move Nylander tho. But if you were, something like this but a tad more (add in a guy like Trenin, take out Myers and buy himself yourself so he can sign for around 900k in Toronto)

the reason why myers is there is that when he's bought out his team will get an extra 600k cap space next season which is why i think he makes sense for the leafs.

except that it did work. The leafs defence was good to great when healthy, and even pretty good when not. The Leafs D has been fine with this 'compromise'. And even if it wasnt, compromising even more on forwards, you know the thing that actually cost them the last 2 playoff series, is even worse

leafs d in fine now that they fixed it. years ago that's where they tired to save. goaltending cost them the series.

no, not being able to score from the bottom half of the roster cost them this year, goaltending was a duel and vasy was just as bad as campbell.

yea, the goalies were bad. campbell had a sub .900 save percentage. leafs scored 3.5 goals a game, that's enough to win a series.

Wild needed to trade fiala because they didn’t have the cap to sign him, leafs don’t need to trade nylander. His price is way higher than this

Nylander isn’t a cap dump though. He’s an 80 point player making 6.8 million. The guy a they move for cap this year are holl mrazek and kerfoot. Nylander shluldbt be moved unless they get better from it

I get the logic but the cap also is 600k against the cap next year. Basically evens out, and next year will likely be even worse for the Leafs cap wise if I’m being honest
