McDonagh would be nice in Detroit. I don’t recall Friedman mentioning Detroit/ask.

Wings Decline. They’re not going to take on a massive contract and give Tampa Zadina and draft picks

Great player, but it doesn't make sense for the Wings to send good assets away in order to pay for his years 33,34,35,36 seasons at nearly $7 million per.

Well no one knows that except the 32 GMs are McDonagh. But I don't even think Tampa's management would even ask McDonagh to waive his NTC. As I said, what is McDonagh motivation to leave Tampa? And then we have a post that he is traded to Winnipeg. Sixty eight year old PalHal has better chance of playing Winnipeg than McDonagh.

I don't think it'd be leaked if they hadn't already asked him for maybe a short list or if he'd even consider waiving. Could be a good addition to a team that is still competitive but has their window closing soon - Caps maybe?

Or maybe there is no leaks and reporters are trying to make themselves relevant by making up stories, so people read their blogs, and increase the reporters income.
Not saying McDonagh couldn't help a team though his 4 years remaining is prohibitive. But again McDonagh has no reason to waive his NTC. If asked, I'm sure his answer would be. "NO. Need cap? Don't sign Palat or trade M NTC Killorn or Sergachev."

DET shouldn’t do this. Unless Brisebois has naked pics of Yzerman or something.

I wouldn't worry Elliotte's average isn't all that good it's about as accurate as flipping a coin.

Wings decline. McDonagh is a great player but is getting older and can easily regress and that gives Detroit just a crappy contract for the next couple of year

I'm not upset at all what Friedman or any reporter says. After all, they have to create stories and try to outdo one another so they appear relevant But I am saddened that why any reasonable adult would believe what a sports reporter says.
Now if a sports fan believes in own thoughts.....that's fine. But lowering yourself to believe what say a sports says, and taking that as fact , well that's kinda pathetic.
