I know the known value has always been either a 2nd ord 3rd+Abruzesse to dump Mrazek, but the price to dump Ritchie was also expected to be higher than what Dubas ended up paying. The seattle third is pretty high up in the draft order overall and I think this is what Dubas will use to dump Mrazek. This is my perception of it and I have no problem if you think it takes more.

Consider this though, Mrazek costs $8.6mil over 2 years in actual salary. A 3rd round pick is not worth an $8.6mil cap dump. Also consider how desperate TOR will be to move cap between this summer and next summer. Ya'll are gonna have to pay up. CHI doesn't need Mrazek. We can get mediocre goaltending elsewhere for a lot cheaper.

Again, I don't believe that anything you're saying is wrong. It's just my belief that dubas figures out how to use an early 3rd to get rid of mrazek after how he got rid of Ritchie, but I would not be shocked at all if it took more.

True. But I think with Ritchie there was still upside to consider. And he definitely showed that upside in AZ after the trade scoring 10 goals and 14 points in only 24 games. Idk though. Dubas might be able to get it done. But probably not with CHI. Davidson doesn't seem like he wants to do any favors and has said he is not going to take on cap dumps for just any old thing.

It doesn't have to be with Chicago. I'd honestly argue that Mrazek has got much more upside than Ritchie had, as he has only had one really bad season and goalies are much more voodoo. Either way, I think he finds a way.
