Minnesota just traded Fiala because they couldn't afford him. They won't take McDonagh. Also, if TB did get Middleton, they would play him he had a lot of interest around the deadline from teams for his sound defensive play.

Minnesota has 12 million in dead cap next year they most definitely can’t afford mcdonaugh or need him for that matter

sorry man, Tampa will not be in the position of power when trading, they are over the cap already, they need to move money out so they might be able to get a 2nd and prospect

Be very surprised to see a big return on McDonagh. The bolts need to move the cap hit and he'll have basically full control on where he goes.

They aren't over the cap lol, Minnesota definitely isn't the team but Tampa won't be getting ripped off

McDonagh gets far far less since he is picking the team he goes to. 2nd rounder maybe.

currently the tbl are

Projected cap hit = $84,483,333
Projected cap space = $0 (-$1,983,333 )

dont think that these teams will be trade partners if dough will be moved.

Incorrect, Tampa currently has approx 4.9 million in cap space at present. You aren't factoring in Seabrook's ltir space.

They don't have to move him now at all. Brisebois is more than likely seeing where he might waive and what interest there may be, but they aren't forced to move him now. Killorn is the only player that should be traded this off season. Tampa can wait until next off season and if no good trade options, buy out McD then. Moving him now will net a solid return if it happens, but Brisebois isn't forced to do so because of the cap.

Yeah, I've seen it everywhere. Most use CF for the cap but don't factor in Seabrook. 6.875-1.983 is what Tampa currently has, so just under 4.9.

You better get used to the idea that Sergachev will be heading out.

but that still leaves 4.9 to sign palat (or replacement) paul (or replacement) and depth. trading McDonagh will give them enough space to do so and not many teams would want to help them with that.

Or not because that's not going to happen. Tampa has several other routes to take before trading Serg is.an option.

They can move Killorn and mostly be fine this year. Tampa fans have heard the same thing so.many times, how they won't be able to move so and so for anything, and no matter how many times we've said otherwise, the same rhetoric continues. McD may not return a massive return, but he's not a negative value asset(assuming Tampa is actually even shopping him).

everyone is going to doubt TBL this offseason, but they will find a way and be back in the finals next year, its infuriating and amazing

I don't know if they'll make the SCF for a 4th straight year(hope so!), but it's pretty funny seeing all the talk of how they're done now(not from you, but so many others). They still have a very strong core, and despite being banged up pretty badly, came within two wins of a 3 peat. I still believe with little doubt that if Point was 100%, Tampa is celebrating a 3 peat today, but maybe we'll find out next year if he makes a difference.

Permission to talk to Lalonde+McDonagh at 5m + Killorn + 2022 1st or 2024 2nd+3rd for two players on contract

If they don;t manage to get out of McDonagh's contract they will be facing the same cap crunch as Toronto, luckily for TB though, they have elite forwards, defender, and goalie but they still will be looking to get good value on budget contracts.

They don't have to move McD at all this offseason. Nor will they be retaining or adding sweeteners. They can move Killorn and be fine this year, but moving McD for value now does make some sense.

I agree but unless there's a team that is high on him that he wants to go to as well, they probably aren't getting his value for him, his contract is a monster too. Instead of their picks, I think they would be willing to use Killorn as a sweetner if they are moving him anyways.

Most teams will just hope they can pry Serge away next year. JBB is trying to get ahead of it before, he looses and arm and leg but also McDonagh needs to be part of the decision.

Serge isn't going anywhere. Decent chance Brisebois extends the main rfas this Summer if recent history is anything to look at. If he can't move McD for a deal that works, he can revisit him next Summer, where Tampa would have 3 options again in either trade, waivers, or buyout if need be.
