Pass on the FLA and OTT trades, trade Pearson elsewhere for a pick, and put Garland back on the top line instead of Hornqvsit (who, blegh).

No no, These are some decent prospects and we have a number of them and we can flip Horn for more at the TDL.

we could get a 3rd for pearson rn

or

get a bunch of prospects and a 3rd at the tdl

I understand that, but this team looks like it's trying to compete to me, with the exception of Petey playing with Hornqvist. Either leave Garland so Petey has a decent winger, or don't sign Malkin and use cap space to take dumps for assets imo.

fair but we could even flip hornquist now, hold onto half of his contract and then we have the roster spot, probably a lesser pick, but we can then get we have 3 prospects, and a 3rd for pearson with the caviat that we have to have 2.6ish mill on the books next year. but the great thing is we will have moved out ferland's LTIR money so we can use daily cap space at the deadline and pick up a whole bunch of extra picks and prospects in exchange for retaining money.

I get Hörnqvist for the "room" he has great leadership qualities and I think people like Hughes and Pettersson will learn a lot from a player that has won 2 Stanley cups and made the GWG in the final. I think he would be a great fit for the team this year if/when they trade JT. I do understand why people are against Malkin but I think he would love to be a mentor for Podkolzin.

Yes from NYI if we can make the cap work and Brad Lambert isn't there at 13.
