Description
Short term pain = long term gain (2 years and we are back in the playoffs). 2017 1st round pick (5th) Van picks Cale Makar. With the 2017 1st round pick (8th) Van picks Timothy Liljegren. We sign Darren Raddysh. Defense is set for the future. Scoring will be way up. Defense will still be an issue for 2017/18, but the 2018/19 will see Demko in and the defense take shape. Maybe even trade Edler at the trade deadline.

    Canucks don't believe Sam Reinhart would be able to thrive playing so close to home, and Griffin isn't even close to being worth Hutton

    BUF definitely won't go for that. Tanev had a down season for him. Sutter didn't play too well. Jordan Subban is a decent prospect but this trade does entice Buffalo to trade Reinhart. Not to mention, you also want their 2017 1st round pick? nah.
