Description
This scenario would give us a puck moving defenceman on each d-pair as well as a solid top 9.

Also a top 5 pick = Jiricek/Nemec on the way to play with Hughes

  3. 2023 3rd round pick (COL)
COL
  1. Miller, J.T. ($2,625,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Not sure what the value is here but Avs get a really good 2C since they don’t have cap space for Kadri and buys an additional year for Newhook to eventually marinate into that role. However they give up Girard, which seems Byram may have taken his role and Lehkonen, who is a pretty good clutch player.

  1. Boeser, Brock [RFA Rights]
  2. 2022 1st round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Fletcher mentioned that he would consider trading the 5th overall pick for a guy in his early/mid twenties so Boeser may fit if Canucks are unable to negotiate a contract with him. So the value here is the difference between Boeser and JVR is 10 spots in the draft plus an additional 2023 3rd rounder.

  1. Barron, Morgan
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (CBJ)

That’s a no from COL. Lehkonen is going to be a top 6 relatively cost controlled forward and Girard is locked up for 5 more years. Miller is a straight rental in COL. In fact that’s a hard no.

I was just trying to explore some new ideas and I didn't know those players meant that much to the Avs. Would they have to move some money out to sign Kuemper, Nichushkin, and/or Kadri then?

The Jets have zero need or desire for Pearson.

kadri is unaffordable and i'm not sure the avs even try. the other two are likely affordable unless they test the market and get a crazy offer.

Avs deal is a hard no. Girard isn't as necessary for the Avs with Byram around, but I doubt the team feels any need to move him this offseason. As for Lehkonen, considering we gave up our top prospect and a 2nd round pick for the guy and that he's an RFA, he's in the AVs longterm plans. Miller under all circumstances is nothing more than a rental

Don’t see a way unless he takes a discount that Kadri comes back. Nichushkin was reportedly the #2 priority behind a MacKinnon extension. Lehkonen is going to be around $4M and they traded their top prospect and 2nd for on top of being a beast in the playoffs. Girard is 24, locked up for half a decade there isn’t any way they trade him for a rental when he is a 20 min a game dman. COL isn’t acquiring guys in trades that don’t have multiple years of term or aren’t RFA’s.
