Idk that the Sabres would give up Portillo and a draft pick
Might have to be 1 or the other

I just took this trade from a Buffalo ACGM but understandable I mean Portillo and a 6th would even work imo

That’s more plausible imo
I just think the 4th on top of Portillo is pushing it

Cat can sign an 8 year deal if that helps, this proposal is getting closer to what I think it would take (depends what CHI feel the value of Dufour is). The issue will be other teams offers are likely to trump it.

Not to mention cats 9 mil QO. Yeah 8.8 isn't far off but he bet on himself and won. He ain't signing less that 9 mil per

Buffalo should take that in a heart beat.
Varlamov has an excellent resume and IMO (as a Sabre fan) is worth significantly more than a spoiled/self centered/egotistical (will not sign with Buffalo) third best GK prospect in the Sabres system.
If Varlamov gave Buffalo an average season, they would easily jump 10 to 15 points in the standings and with that average season he would return a kings ransom at the TDL similar or more than the MAF trade last year.
Many Buffalo fans are myopic and cannot see the big picture.
Reading the tea leaves, Portillo will walk away from the Sabres in 12 months, if Lamoriello were to make your offer Karmanos' head would hit the ceiling with excitement.
It is unlikely that ANY GM would offer this much as Eric may leave them holding a bag of manure as well when Eric walks away from that team.
Finally, IMO Lamoriello will receive much better offers for Varlamov before the season starts.

If I were Davidson, I would consider that deal, seems in the ballpark.

13th overall isn't ideal, but that other 1st round pick should most likely be top 16 as well, so that helps. I like Dufour and Wahlstrom but their skating is not good and they don't really fit the kind of players Davidson has said CHI is looking for. And it doesn't look like the NYI's have any prospects that fit what CHI is looking for. Also, considering the repots that came out about offers that have already been turned down, I am gonna have to go against my fellow CHI fans here and say CHI declines.
