Jesse is worth more than Raanta IMO. A 33 year old, pending-UFA 1B/backup goalie with a long injury history isn't what I'd call a compelling return for Jesse even if it technically fills a hole on our roster.

Also, the rest of that roster is concerning in its stalwart adherence to the kind of team-building practices that continue to have this team icing an impotent bottom-6.

Raanta cant stay healthy. Let the Canes keep his broken body. They need to actually pay for quality in nets. These temporary solutions need to end!

I dont mind the idea of a stopgap for the goalie situation, would give them a chance to really see what they have with Skinner. But I think i'd rather see Jake Allen, or Reimer for that role.... and I think JP would be an overpay for any of those guys. 1 yr of a 1B goalie for a 24 yr old 4th overall pick who is still under team control for 3 more yrs..... Raanta worth more to the canes than they’d get in a trade. He was great for us last year and serves as a stop gap until Koochie is ready the following season. Will take Pulj for a late second or early third.
