Supposedly the Hawks have turned down a package that involved 2 firsts (one being a "high" one). Their supposed asking price is 3 firsts, + high prospects ready to make it to the NHL. So with the salary dumps in here, I doubt this would do it. If your gonna go with 2 firsts, it's likely going to cost more than just some "ok prospects," it would probably cost high-level prospects. So no, I don't think this would get you cat.

Morrow is a high level prospect and Necas is worth more than a first. So this is essentially 4 firsts plus. Maybe you get higher quality firsts but you’re not getting more than that. It’s also highly likely CHI takes salary back bc if they move Cat they’re rebuilding anyways and that’s how they can maximize the return.

Whoever says Chicago turns this down needs a reality check. Necas is a young center with a great two way game Morrow is an A rated prospect, Suzuki is a B rated prospect and two more firsts are thrown in there. You’re getting the value of 5 first rounders. Take the hit with Gardner pretty sure he’s LTIR’d anyway
