According to
Freedman the hawks have turned down better offers than this. Another rumor I've heard stated that the current starting ask is 3 firsts and an NHL-ready prospect.
It's a high price, but understandable considering:
1:The Hawks do not need to move Debrincat
2: Debrincat doesn't want to leave
3: Debrincat is a very young, 2x 40 goal scorer. Since coming into the league he continues to improve areas of his game. To the point he is now killing penalties, stripping pucks and creating his own chances.
4: Though he's a high salary, he's also an RFA, so the team getting him can control his rights for a few more years.
5: If the Hawks don't move him, they're still in a good position, as Debrincat is the type of player you could build a team around.
To get the cat, your gonna have to beat the value he has for the Hawks, which is very high. I honestly don't think the Flyers should really think about it, as it will cost far too many futures that they would need to build a team.
