🤣🤣🤣... I just knew they were going to **** up their coaching hire, what a poorly run organization!

Next stop (and last) Houston for this franchise!

Honestly would've been okay with Quinn, was really hoping for Montgomery (who played for the Moose!) or Brunette when Montgomery was hired by Boston, what a bad choice they made in Bowness.

I'm happy with this hire. He did great with Dallas and can improve the defense structure

Bowness last coached the jets in 88/89, so gets another shot. This could be rather ugly, with bowness gets tuned out in two years ish, and most important contracts lasting two years. Move over ottawa and or Buffalo, here comes quite the dumpster fire.

All 3 teams pass.

Florida can't afford Blake Wheeler.

NYR definitely can't afford Mark Scheifele.

And Detroit's not giving up Pius Suter for Nate Schmidt.

He benched/4th lined a clearly talented player in Gurianov when Dallas is starved for goals, just another old hockey idiot which is the last thing the Jets who can't score need, just more of the same for this mediocre organization.

Pius Suter was a Detroit fan post, NYR sure can afford 6M, FLA that depends...6M for a 60 p by guy is ok

People are quick to jump on Bowness without even giving the guy a chance. It’s not like Dallas was a team packed with skill and talent lol. Plus his coaching record is heavily affected by his time with the new expansion senators. They had an echl level roster in the NHL.

I’m willing to give Bowness a chance, he’ll bring structure and he’s not afraid to sit a guy if they’re not playing well. We’re not going to see any more pouty pants players getting their way.

Yeah Nate Schmidt isn't worth more than a 3rd or 4th round pick for us, He'd be at the bottom of what we're seeking.

Sure the NYR can afford Mark Scheifele, if they don't sign anybody else this year and next.

Blake Wheeler is the very last person Florida needs, Florida led the league in scoring this past season. They need to upgrade their D and move out Bobrovsky for someone cheaper and let Spencer Knight lead that team to glory.

I don't care about Bowness' long term coaching record, this team needs goals, goals, goals not an offense sucking overly defensive structure.

This organization is run by a guy who's afraid of change, has small Winnipeg thinking syndrome and clings to Jets 1.0 days that didn't really have much to celebrate, this hiring is right in line with that.

Were we watching the same jets team? They can’t play defense to save their lives and left hellebuyck out to dry time and time again. If anything a Bowness system is exactly what they need. They need defensive structure. I think people are overreacting lol. The guy hasn’t even coached a game yet but everyone seems to know exactly how it’ll unfold.

Still a year away from the oh **** moment, probably going to have to move everybody with limited team control, hopefully sell relatively high on some

And Helle couldn't come up with a big save to save his life either!

Did you really think Maurice had them playing a run and gun offensive system?

It'll unfold like a team battling for a wildcard spot but coming up short, granted that won't be all cause of Bowness cause frankly they're just not good enough of a team anyway but they really needed to move away from another guy with ties to the organization, just see Bowness as being another yes man is all.

But hey, if he'll bench Chipman and Chevy like he'll apparently do to underperforming players then maybe it won't be the worst hire.

Did great in Dallas??? What are you talking about?

He was horrible and banked off one flukey year. After that he was abysmal. He tried to ruin Miro and Gurianov, shat on the offence, and gave Oettinger no help with his stupid dump and chase.

Have fun next year, there’s no chance he’s leading this team to the playoffs. There’s more chance they get Bedard than get to the playoffs.

Offence will not exist, Connor and a few others will hate their years with his system, I see it coming.

I’m just warning you, chances are that Kyle Connor, Dubois, and Scheifele will want to kill themselves.

This solidified the fact that Dubois isn’t re-signing, he hated Torts and this is basically the exact same thing. Trade him for a haul while you can.

I mean, I see them flunking this year and contending for the lottery. Trade non vital pieces for futures, get Bedard, and after a while they’ll be contenders again, just make sure Bedard stays, lock him up to an 8 year as soon as his ELC expires. Success will come if they time it well.

They need to change their approach as an organization. I know they’re stubborn and want to contend so that’s why I wasn’t too upset over the Bowness hire. But I agree I feel like they will falter again. I would’ve much rather seen a younger coach.
