As an aside, I guess Tocchet's coaching career is over. It is one thing to decline an assistant job, but to decline HC jobs two years in a row tells the market you are not interested.

Well did he decline it or did the Jets even offer it?

Interviews aren't offers, what was the other head coaching job he declined?

Yes the old Moose were pretty instrumental for the Canucks back then, pretty sure Heisinger was the guy who gave Burrows his shot, they need to utilize that kind of work again to find diamonds in the rough.

That said how many diamonds in the rough have they already found but have either developed poorly or never gave much of a chance to and killed their confidence.

Agree, I’ve always questioned some of there loyalty to enstrom and some of the other guys they seem to play no matter what, they seemed to have a disconnect where they would play guys late in year and then not even offer them a contract in the summer, and have kids sitting in the pressbox or stuck on moose. That might be on coach at the time, but I have a feeling that Chevy is way over his head, and a bunch of his success came on scouts good work or just plain luck. Jets make more sense if you get back to the realization that Chevy quite possibly could be an idiot.

If Weekes' report is accurate then it was offered, that said, Weekes' approach to being insider is to be a volume shooter than a sniper. I am trying to remember the other report I read where he and the team couldn't agree on term and dollars.

Turns out that Weekes was wrong again (he got the CHI one wrong earlier).
