Does MTL consider

Description
I came across an article on Sportsnet that had some ideas that I implemented below. They seemed close to me. What do you think?

No captain. JoMo, Dubois, connor, and scheifele get A’s. Dubois is offered the C along with the expected long term offer from the jets.

Whole goal is based around having Dubois sign long term and letting scheifele walk or trade him (depending on perfetti’s development).

Montreal is rebuilding and unless they wish to keep anderson through the rebuild, I think they are better off moving him for someone they can get better assets for now. Assets that will be helpful when they are ready to compete. Lmk what you think MTL fans

I think it’s a fair deal.

No, Los Angeles isn't interested in taking 31-year-old $5.95-million-cap-hit Nate Schmidt off your hands. We'd rather overspend to acquire Jakob Chychrun or even one year of Travis Sanheim, both of whose cap hits are 80% of Schmidt's.

Awe Blake Wheeler has a 5 team trade list, And i'm pretty sure Montreal isn't one of those 5 teams. besides 2 years of Wheeler for 5 years of Anderson. No way would Montreal make that trade.

No. The habs already reportedly from several outlets have very good offers on the table for Anderson why would they add a extra step and likely a lesser return in wheeler?

I really hope the Jets don't saddle themselves with Anderson's contract. Wheeler's contract is bad, but it's only 2 more years.

If people don't like Wheeler's contract just imagine how they'll feel getting stuck with Anderson for 5 years.

Habs fans will 💩💩 all over this suggestion, apparently there's lots of interest around the league in Anderson, Wheeler isn't waiving for Montreal anyway.

Kings fans have repeatedly said they don't want Dillon or Schmidt so these trades need to stop.

I dont' think Wheeler waives nor do I think MTL trades Anderson for a roster player, but I like the idea overall.

Also, Anderson's season you were talking about was not on a line with Dubois, but with Jenner & Foligno

For me it all comes down to what the Habs are trying to do, which is get younger faster and more skilled. Wheeler is very skilled but at 35 isn't exactly fleet of foot or young. The wouldn't be bad if we were trying to contend but we aren't so the Habs would pass.

It’s funny cause until now, kings fans told me they would entertain a Schmidt deal. The idea behind this deal would be that montreal flips him to a team on his list and gets more in return than they would for anderson.

The interest around anderson is puzzling. Bad contract in my opinion. The only reason I’m making a move for him is cause I think a change of scenery would help his production. What some GMs will do for size is puzzling lol.

As I said in the description, the idea here wouldn’t be the habs keeping wheeler. They would flip him for a 1st +. I imagine a pt/gm player that brings leadership could get you that, despite age or defensive play.

They could get that for Anderson though so what's the point of filtering it through Wheeler?

I’d be surprised if they got a 1st + for anderson. Despite the size

Interesting, I always see Kings fans saying no to Schmidt or Dillon.. lol

I'm not that surprised, I think there's going to be a bit of a return to some bigger players to be honest. Anderson's contract is concerning though I agree, he's very streaky too.

Idk, the + probably wouldn't be much so it'd really just be a mid to late 1st for a guy who's signed for a long time, GM's that are interested probably like that security/term knowing they have a guy penciled in to a certain spot/role for awhile and don't have to think about it.

He really seems like a Lou type guy and acquisition to be honest.
